 This A3 infographic poster visualises the increasing trend of vaping among teens based on data sourced from Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2022-2023. The title also refers to the visual and conceptual narrative of video games — although tobacco smoking rates are being ‘defeated’/ rapidly declining within this demographic, a new ‘enemy’ is on the rise.

The dataset is illustrated into a 3D wireframe perspective grid, creating depth and demanding attention from its audience. This poster leverages on video game-specific colour psychology to convey different messages for specific elements of data, i.e. reds for alarming rates and danger, greens and blues for healthy stats and support. The visual metaphor of video games creates a cohesive and digestible narrative for its young audience. What’s deceptively a fun and energetic poster may very well call out their behaviour.
